Director's commentary
Here is evidence of my directors commentary I created, showing my reasoning behind filming scenes a certain/specific and to highlight how I wanted an audience to view my film. Here is a sample of a few clips I analysed.
0.50-3.04-In this scene I have used a static establishing shot to capture where my character is walking into.By leaving the shot static as the girl is walking away it gives the audience time to register the setting as that is the main focus at this point. And by by the camera staying still but her walking away it creates a feel that she is moving away from reality.( Establishing shot)
1.33-3.04- In this scene the camera pans upwards, showing the tall trees and surroundings of the girl, I wanted to capture the contrast between the small girl and the large trees looming over her giving an eery feel and highlighting the stark contrast between her and the large forest. (Pan upwards)
1.55-3.04-After the girl as her future self was just revealed in the previous clip, the camera cuts to this scene of her researching "future self" buy sequencing the two clips after each other I was hoping to express the correlation between them to the audience. So the audience could start to understanding whats happening. (Close up)
2.0-3.04-This clip takes place after the one above, I wanted to create suspense for the audience so for a few clips i switched between the researching and the girl to build tension.(Medium shot)
2.21-3.04- At this point the future self girl is fully revealed and face to face with her current self.I want the audience to really feel the uncomfortableness in this scene. So I got the camera to be extremely close before pulling away just so they could feel it for a brief time.(Close up)
